Patient Management System (PMS)
 

The Patient Management System (PMS) is a part of any Hospitals, which uses computerized systems to maintain and co-ordinate various functions in day-to-day activities. This PMS consists of mainly 5 Sub-Systems viz.

• Administration System
• Doctor Management System
• Nurse Management System
• Stores Management System
• Laboratory Inventory System

Each sub-system precisely addresses all the core functions with simple and user friendly interfaces. It is designed precisely with all the relevant Key information and designed in such a way that it can be easily customizable to the needs of the user to do without compromising in quality and in its utility.

The main screen, which is common to all modules, consists of facility to :

Log on into the system as different users such as Admin, Users, Nurses, Patients, Lab incharge, Stores Incharge with each user having different levels of authorization and access to information in the system.

Gives information about the availability of Doctors on any given day. Search Screen, Scheduler Screen, Calendar Screen, Patient Details viewing screen are common to all modules.

Search Screen :

Using this screen details about Doctor, Nurse, Patient, Items can be found The details can be searched either through name or through Id.

Calendar Screen :

This screen provides the List of events such as free camps, Doctors general Meeting and etc with the date and time they are scheduled using the calendar control. Entries can be add, modified, deleted through this screen.

Scheduler Screen :

This calendar control based screen is used to schedule the works of Doctor, Nurse and in turn Patients details related with Doctor, Nurse. This screen provides option for selecting Doctor, Nurse or Patient and then to schedule the work of Doctor and Nurse and schedule the operation or test timing of the patients.

Patient Information Screen :

This Non-editable View only screen is used by Doctor, Nurse, Stores incharge, Lab incharge, Patient to view the information about the Patient.

Back Button Option is used to go back to the main menu of any sub-system when logged on as Admin only. It is disabled for other users of the system.

Administration System :

Administration system controls and co-ordinates the functions of other subsystems and thus providing controlled access and security. Various functionalities provided in this system are

• Creation of records for Patients, Nurses, Doctors, Inventory Items, Donor list, Billing
• Defining access rights for various users of the system - Security
• Giving appointments and scheduling operations and tests
• Facility to search and find details of Doctor, Nurses, Patients and Etc.
• Scheduling of operations and general check schedule of both in-patients and
   out-patients

Patient Master Screen :

This screen is common to Patient, Doctor, Nurse, Admin Modules. It helps to maintain detailed information about the patient such as Patient physical details, previous history of disease, Current Problem information, family background , patient's habits, address, provides id to patient for future reference, registration date, blood group and etc.

Doctor Master Screen :

This screen is common to Doctor, Admin, Nurse (Limited Access). It helps to stored detailed information about the Doctor such as Name, Qualification , address, Specialization area, personal details, Consulting days and time , No. of Patients treated per day and all other relevant things.

Billing Screen :

This screen is used to compute and print testwise billing and Final billing. This takes the relevant parameters like name and number of tests done and prepares bill for testwise and also one single bill - Final Bill for the patient.

Donor Screen :

This screen is used to maintain list of Donors so that special concessions and other benefits can be given to them while treating them . This provides facilities to categorize donors such as Eye Donors, Blood Donors , Trustees and etc depending upon each category concessions and other benefits may vary .

Security Master :

This screen is used to create various users, categorize them, provide privileges to each category , view / set the user hierarchy . It's the screen through which the controlled access is provided.

Appointment Fixing Screen :

It is the Screen through which Admin fixes the appointment of Patient with relevant doctors . Calendar control based scheduler is provided for the ease and efficient operation.

Appointment Rescheduling Screen :

It is the Screen through which Admin reschedules the appointment of Patient. Here options are provided to change the appointment with different Doctors with different departments and also can shuffle the order of appointment.
The Admin has privileges to access all the screens & reports in various sub-systems like Administration System, Doctor Management System, Nurse Management System, Stores System, Laboratory Inventory System

Doctor Management System :

Doctor Management System aids in maintaining records about Doctor and allocation / redirection of work/operations of each Doctor. Salient features of this system are

Test Result Screen :

It is the Screen through which Doctor views the test results of the Patient like General Observation , Blood test, Scan / X-Ray / ECG results and other relevant test results prescribed. The results of Scan, X-Ray, ECG can be viewed.

Doctor Availability Screen :

Doctor Availability Screen is used to view the Doctors in various departments and their appointment schedules.

Documentation Screen :

This screen is general screen used by Doctors to enter and store information, which they feel important. Thus is provides a handy ready reference of important information whenever required.

Diagnosis Screen :

Diagnosis screen gives the information about the Patient, Doctor who examined him, Symptoms found, Disease detected, medicines prescribed and the next date of consultation / check-up.

Appointment Cancellation :

This screen is used by the Doctor to cancel any appointment with patient he had and the reason for cancellation so that this information can be used by Admin for further future action.

Patient Transfer Screen :

This screen is used by the Consulting Doctor to advise the transfer / redirection of Patient to another specialist of another or same department and reasons for transfer which will be received by the Admin and necessary action can be done.

Appointment Screen :

This non-editable view only screen is used to see the appointment schedules of any doctor of all the departments available.

Nurse Management System :

Nurse Management System is designed to assign work and works in sync. with Doctor Management System .

• Maintaining Supplier list & list of items / Equipments supplied by each one of them.
• Receipt of goods & purchase return.
• Issue & Issue Return
• Processing & follow up of pending purchase order
• Keeping track of safety / Re-order levels and giving alert messages.
• Maintaining items movement & other things to Laboratory / Theatres.
• Maintaining resources requirement for each Test / Packages and deciding in   scheduling of operations, purchasing things required.

Environment:

Visual Basic 6.0 and Back End in SQL Server 7.0. IF customer Wishes we can customize the package with Oracle 8i or MS Access as Back end.

Since the whole package is developed using the technology COM and DCOM, we can give this package in Internet Technology, where the users can view the information through website and through intranet the application can be used with in the hospitals.

Customization:

As seen above the PMS is designed in such a way that it takes care about all the activities in Hospital. After a system study at the client end, we can customize the above package in more comfortable and easier way in lesser time period at Customer Place.
